Two books are available from local shops detailing a good number of walks in the area. Newent Walks and More Newent Walks have been published by the Newent Initiative Trust to promote the outstanding countryside and attractive towns and villages surrounding Newent.

Each walk features a coloured map showing rights of way, land marks, rivers and streams. Many routes take in notable features such as the beautiful May Hill, and a recently restored section of the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal. The walks are graded for differing abilities and feature step by step directions and points of interest.
